Here are two session summaries from Orange Code Camp Opio (October 2005). Engineering with a Business Plan (part of a starting up guide) looked at the business side of mobile software development. While Developing for the Sony Ericsson P990 examined the developer options for Sony Ericsson's UIQ super phone. Orange's next biannual developer event, which I'll be attending, starts on Monday and we will be bringing you more developer coverage in the near future.
John Pagonis, head of the Symbian Developer Network, who gave the sessions entitled 'Engineering with a Business Plan' gave a whistle stop tour through the business side of mobile development covering a wide range of topics from product conceptualisation, electronic software distribution and the importance of creating a strong team.
ark Donohoe, Principal Engineer Sony Ericsson, introduced developers to the recently announced Sony Ericsson P990 and convered some of the basic changes in the developer framework in UIQ 3.
