Review: SyncLion

Guest writer Asri al-Baker reviews SyncLion, a new utility developed by a newcomer to the Symbian application market, Trismer Technology, designed to archive your SMS, MMS, Contacts and Notes into your standard email. Asri tests it to his Gmail setup and admires the innovative folder creation system that keeps this information separate from normal email.

"For years, there has been no easy and convenient way to extract text messages to different media types because the SMS system is  locked to the phone. For example, you can't just change from a Motorola phone to a Nokia, and transfer all the contents of your SMS Inbox across from the Motorola to Nokia easily. It doesn't work that way. SyncLion is the mobile solution that allows you to automatically save all SMS, MMS, contacts and notes on an e-mail via IMAP. All topics that appear on your saved into folders dedicated account for easy access. In addition, the data presented in table form directed contacts, including vCard attachments.

This sounds like an interesting app... Can anyone confirm whether it works with Yahoo Mail (Plus) please? Also, does it really sync the content of MMS messages, including pictures?

This is a useful app if only to sync messages to your gmail inbox.

Yes it does sync mms fine and pictures are included, I am assuming yahoo will work as you can configure the server, but try the demo to be sure.

Yahoo oficially doesn't support IMAP, but there are some topic on the net about unoficial server address for IMAP. It's worth to try with SyncLion
