How to: Synchronise S60 with your social networks.

Published by Steve Litchfield at 8:48 GMT, March 4th 2010

Synchronising your PIM data can be a treacherous prospect at the best of times. David Gilson has been risking the safety of his PIM data to show you how you can use the commercial service Memotoo to synchronise your S60 phone with not only Google, but the likes of Facebook and LinkedIn too.

"Memotoo's strength is in the range of formats and platforms it supports. It is easy to export and import data, and work with other applications. For example, using Memotoo's iCal publishing feature to view and edit your calendar in the likes of Mozilla Sunbird; or the excellent but unsung desktop calendar, Rainlendar.

Time for some disclosure, I've been a personal user of Memotoo for over three years. Although, I've only recently dared to try its extra synchronisation services, I've now been testing additional synchronisation with Google, Facebook and LinkedIn, which are reviewed below."

David,
One more good thing to note here is that Syncevolution which is being developed as part of MeeGo(earlier Moblin) supports Memotoo service. This allows it to be used for sync with your evolution in Linux(e.g. Ubuntu)

If you are only interested in syncing Google Contacts and Calendar you can use MfE for free (excluding data charges...):

+1 for Memotoo -- I spent a year searching for the perfect PIM, and Memotoo beat all the rest...

Memotoo looks very nice, but does not offer encryption of my data on their servers. Fail.

I signed up for the a one-month premium account, but don't seem to get pictures from facebook.

And I agree with the above poster, robust encryption on the server is an important feature for an app like this.
