Portable speaker double test: Proporta Twisted System and Nokia MD-6
Published by Steve Litchfield at 11:24 UTC, November 24th 2009
Two reviews for the price of one, this morning, with me looking in detail at Proporta's new Twisted System Speakers and Ewan looking at Nokia's MD-6 Mini-Speakers. In each case, the idea is to give you better, louder audio when away from home. But do either set rise to the challenge and warrant the space needed in your rucksack or briefcase?

Looking at the relative size of the two speakers sets, it's worth emphasising that they're for different use cases. The Proporta ones in particular are larger and more powerful and for business trips with laptop and a chunky briefcase for storage etc. The Nokia set is more for keeping in the bottom of a pocket or rucksack.

If the whole idea is so that u can listen to the content of ur phone out loud in ur hotel room, i'd say just drop them speakers at home n bring along ur TV out cable with u.. Connect ur phone to the TV in the hotel room n BOOOOM.. u got urself a loud speaker, with the TV remote to go..and those pics n videos u took in the day at the beach.. all on TV.. why bother with 'em portable speakers.. Unless of course, if u're staying camping outside or u need the speaker for some other uses..
Nokia solved that problem for us a few years back already mate.. c",)

Excellant idea, and the TV does not need the batteries that each of these speakers need... :). Unfortunately not all phones come with a TV out option and these speakers can be used with any phone with a 3.5mm jack (or a phone whose headset has a 3.5mm adapter). Plus places like the one you mentioned (camping, back seat of a car, etc.)
