PSILoc+ have released a beta version of System Tools, an application that allows you to do all sorts of things to your 7650, including restarting, formatting, restore to factory settings and activation of a 'Flight Mode'....
It looks like the furore over the charges for the P800 SDK may be having an effect. According to The Register in this article a version of the UIQ SDK will be made available for free. This version will not inlcude the Metrowerks RAD IDE program, and is most beneficial to Linux users (thought the Gnupoc project).
Active Desk for the Nokia 7650 has been updated to version 1.10. New in this version is support for Iatlian, German, Finnish, and French, there are also a number of enhancements and better memory management. You can buy Active Desk via Handango.

Sony Ericsson have launched a developer competition which they are calling the P800 Application Proclamation. Sony Ericsson in conjunction with Metrowerks and Handango are aiming to encourage developers to develop using Metrowerks software innovative and cutting edge applications for the launch of the P800.
The rumours about a possible Siemens Symbian OS based phone have begun to circulate again with speculation being that the launch is very close. The phone (some say the S55 - I'm not so sure) is based on Series 60 and shares a lot of common ground with the Nokia 7650.
There is an interesting article on 3g.co.uk, regarding software called Face Player which is designed to have messages spoken to you by a lip synced face. Orange UK have announced the roll out of MMS services for the UK Orange network. Basic charges are 40p to send a message (free to recieve) and 25p to recieve special messages from Orange.
