It looks like the furore over the charges for the P800 SDK may be having an effect. According to The Register in this article a version of the UIQ SDK will be made available for free. This version will not inlcude the Metrowerks RAD IDE program, and is most beneficial to Linux users (thought the Gnupoc project).

Good news all round it seem. And with Symbian set to release a Java only version of the SDK as well it seems like development for the P800 may be looking up.
