Unboxing the Nokia 5700
(This article is a preview. AAS has now done a proper review of the 5700, to read the full review please click here.)
All About Symbian has finally managed to obtain a production model Nokia 5700 and sales package.
The 5700 is a Symbian smartphone running S60 3rd Edition FP1, marketed as part of the XpressMusic range of music-oriented phones. It features quadband GSM and 3G. The camera is 2 megapixels and has a flash, and you can make videophone calls on it by twisting it to face you. The 5700 is A2DP compatible, so you can listen to music with Bluetooth headphones. It also has stereo speakers. The 5700 uses standard USB cables to connect to your PC, and you can also use Bluetooth or infrared. Further tech specs can be found at the official site.
Without further ado, here are the photos:

The port on the bottom is the 2.5mm audio jack, and on the left you can see the camera and flash. On the black part of the phone you can also just about see the external volume controls.
As with the Nokia 3250, you can twist the 5700's keypad 180 degrees to use the dedicated music controls.
You can twist the camera forward so you can take pictures or video of objects in front of you. This position also lets you easily watch video on the 5700.
You can twist the camera the other way to make videophone calls or take self-portraits.
The charging jack, USB port and hotswap memory card slot are hidden underneath a rubber flap on the right side of the phone.
One last point: this has to be the smallest charger ever. It's barely bigger than a plug!
As stated above, AAS will be doing a proper review of the 5700 very soon. In the meantime you might want to head on over to the Nokia Duck blog and check out a video of the 5700's main features in action, plus some high resolution photographs.
The 5700 will also be part of a very special upcoming feature about which we'll drop this little hint:
