Practical. That's what the Communicator is. Day in, day out, the Qwerty keyboard is always there for you. It may not look much, but it's got it where it counts. And this goes for the 9210 and its software scene as well. There may not be a massive collection of whizz-bang games, but in terms of good solid applications for the working day, the Communicator is rapidly building up a healthy suite of applications. TimeLog is one such application.

TimeLog TEMPHave a look at the screenshot. We've got a series of timers, each with their own title (which you can rename each to something appropriate) and each of which can be started and stopped independently, so you can see how long you've been working on something.

Sounds underwhelming once it's written down, doesn't it? But during a working day, it's very useful indeed.

Imagine you're someone who gets paid an hourly rate (such as a Bob the Builder? - Rafe). You could list your jobs for the week in TimeLog, and keep track of the time taken for those jobs as the minutes tick by. And at the end of the week, the info's all there in CSV format for doing something clever with in Excel...

Maybe you need to keep track of the amount of time the Lesser Spotted Warbler sleeps, flys and eats while you're on a bird-watching expedition? (hey, get a life! - Rafe)? Or maybe you simply want to know how many megabucks you can charge your customers?

TimeLog, because of the flexibility of its simple idea, is going to be useful in many situations. It's not spectacular, but it does what it sets out to do. And for this, it gets a hearty thumbs-up.
