Nokia's Lifeblog application has been given an official relase and is now out of testing. It will come bundled in the sales packages of the 6670 and 7610. Psiloc have announced the availability of Psicloc Voice Reminder. The program allows you to record voice memo, and then (optionally) associate them with a particular time and have them played back at that time (an alarm like function). Alternatively you can listen to all recorded notes.
Yew Marquee allows you to put a scrolling marquee on your standy screen. Feature inlcude choosing fonts, size, colours and position. You can use it to show reminders and any other text.
Corpris has announced the availablility of a freeware English-German dictionary for Series 60. The dictionary includes word translations of 12,000 different words. The software is available from the Corpris website.
Ventox from Jacado is probably one of the most useless pieces of software that we have ever seen. Ventox is a virtual cooling fan. The authors claim it can virtually cool you during the summer and one of the features is variable fan speed. We think it is a turning fan on the screen of your phone. At least they only want $2 for it... I wonder if virtual dollars will do?
Sky Hunter from Tendbeyond uses the new X-Factory game engine. The game is a scrolling shooter with aeroplanes. You work your way through different levels - desert, jungles and tundra - battling against different kinds of intelligent enemies.
ACCESS have announced a new version of their Series 60 browser NetFront. The browser includes Smart-Fit and Rapid Render techonologies to fit pages to the small screen size and to render pages progressively respectively. Version 3.2 delivers the ability to read Adobe Acrobat files and improves download and scrolling performance. NetFront works on all Series 60 phones and will be shipped with the Nokia 6670.
Mobi mate have announced a new version of their best selling WorldMate software. The new version now includes a Real-Time Flight Status service, providing up-to-date information about millions of flights worldwide. More information available in the press release.
Sendo and Vodafone today announced the launch of the Sendo X in the UK. The phone, which should be in the shops by Friday, will be priced from free on a contract (higher end contracts) and £70 on the lower tier contracts.
Lenovo and E-Mobile Technologies have signed an agreement to embed a mobile book system on Lenovo's Symbian OS handsets. The technology allows access to an online book library, where books, magazines, comics, and newspapers can be downloaded. The press release mentions Lenovo has 3 major smartphone products lines, and it seems likely we'll be hearing more next week. Lenovo have yet to publically announce a Symbian OS handset, but are a Series 60 liscensee.
