Grid computing? Very tasty, too...

Published by Steve Litchfield at 14:10 UTC, November 4th 2005

A regular pop-up in the news here, but my Grid of mobile devices has been updated again, over at 3-Lib. Gone is the Sendo X (still crying over that one), new is the Orange M2000 and clones. Suggestions for additions to the Grid are welcomed!

I would have thought that Note Taking using jotter or similar should have figured on your grid.

I have a 9500 but I don't see how it can score higher than the 5mx for word processing when it has no spell checker.

Well, it works in colour and it optionally opens/writes in native Microsoft Word format, for a start. The spell checker is a sad loss, but more then balanced by the other two factors above. IMHO.

Can't believe you've dropped the X...!

Get rid of the 9200 (and possibly that Psion thing) - no-one uses them anymore!

But you should see the visitor figures for http://www.sendosmartphones.com - they prove the X is not dead yet!

Yes, but the Psion 5mx and Nokia 9210 are critical, as the usual upgrade path for most of my 3lib readers. That's where they'll be 'coming from' and so they need to see how everything else compares to these antiques 8-)
