BBC iPlayer Downloads now working again with the Nokia 5800 v21

Just a quick note that, as per the headline, the Download option has now started appearing again for BBC iPlayer programmes on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic with v21 firmware, see the screenshot below, taken just now. I'm guessing the right person's elbow was nudged at the Beeb and the appropriate amendment made in the 'Send them a download link' table...
You can get BBC iPlayer on the Nokia 5800 by downloading the widget. With Nokia's Download! system in utter turmoil at the moment (Jamster, I'm looking at you here), best to grab the widget directly - install it in the usual way.

I suspect the BBC like to test it themselves before allowing access - i.e. to make sure the DRM, etc. is still in place.

This version of iPlayer doesn't work on my N95 8Gb. Categories do nothing now.. and it used to be so good...

Eh? Unless I'm missing something, iPlayer has never been supported on the N95 range. It's strictly N96, N85 and 5800....

:con? I can't answer for the N95, but it works fine on my E90, always has. (just don't accept the "Update Available. Click here to download" as it doesn't work after upgrading).
Can't save the file locally, but it streams fine.

Yes, yes, various hacked widgets do exist, but my point is that it's not officially supported on these devices, so noone can really complain when it doesn't work 8-)

At risk of labouring the point, I have version 1.50 on my N95 8Gb, no hacks, and it works perfectly. Its only version 1.6 that has buggered things up

Glad you got a version that slipped through the BBC's net then. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/where_to_get_iplayer/ clearly shows the devices it's *supposed* to work on 8-)

I downloaded the latest IPlayer and installed it on my new 5800, but it won't work. I wonder if it's a problem with Real Player? I click on an item, say from BBC Radio7, Real starts up, loads to 100%, then starts 'buffering', but this hangs at 0%. This is the same if I try to watch a YouTube video in video mode (flash works OK), and is the same whether I connect via my WIFI or Vodafone WAP.
Is there an update/troubleshoot mechanism for Real Player?

I am with Orange (UK) and have finally got v21 firmware and v1.6 iPlayer only to find no download button and seemingly no-one to help at Orange (referred to Nokia) and the BBC saying something about resetting privacy settings. Does anyone have a clear set of instructions and settings that will enable the Download function please?
