DreamConnect announced for S60

Published by Steve Litchfield at 8:41 UTC, April 29th 2009

One of the biggest developers for UIQ, DreamSpring, has followed up its commitment to porting its software to S60 with the announcement of DreamConnect. Think of this as a contact manager on steroids, with with an 'innovative business card layout', plus 'hierarchical categories that let you organise your contacts to accurately reflect your real life relationships'. Sounds interesting - hopefully, given the UIQ heritage, there's a touch version coming for S60 5th Edition.

I like the idea of a better contact app on my e71. The best contact app for me was on my old Palm handhelds. The S60 contacts needs small and important improvements. Add meaningful categories support, improve search and a decent price.

DreamConnect S60 will also support S60 5th Edition. Here's a screenshot of the Contact detail view in DreamConnect on 5800 :

My hope for DreamConnect is the RAM optimisation. Hopefully, DreamConnect S60 will use a small amount of RAM and integrated itself in the S60 shell as well.

Cheers!
