Mobbler updated to 0.4.4 - sleep timer, Last.fm data

Published by at

Mobbler, a last.fm client for S60, has been updated to version 0.4.4. The new version supports the new Last.fm Web Services, which is an official API / integration route, and should improve stability. Other new features include improved album art support, the ability to disable scrobbling, a sleep timer (perfect for using music to send you to sleep), and the ability to view you Last.fm data.

Last.fm is an Internet radio and music community site. It lets you stream music in the form of custom radio streams. These streams can be based on keywords (e.g. an artist name or genre). Further Last.fm collects information about the music you listen to (scrobbling) and creates a personal radio station for you based around your listening habits. The sites also serves up music recommendations based on what you have listened to.

Mobbler gives you access to the radio streams from your S60 devices, but can also be used to scrobble the music you play on your device (send information to Last.fm about the music you are listening to).

Regular Last.fm will appreciate the benefits of mobile access, but, even if you do not use the Last.fm service, it is worth considering as a source of free, customisable, streaming music for your S60 phone.
