AAS Podcast #115: Wednesday at the MWC

Published by Ewan Spence at 22:27 UTC, February 18th 2009

Our final daily podcast from the Mobile World Congress as we look back at the GSMA awards, the environmental impact of mobile phones, chargers, Nokia messaging, SIM cards and almost the Android G2. Enjoy!

The final 'what happened today' podcast from Ewan and Steve on the MWC. Topics from the last day include today:

  • The results of the GSMA Awards Ceremony from Tuesday night.
  • Nokia's Environmental award and what this means for the industry.
  • The delightful idea of a Universal Phone Charger.
  • Nokia's new Messaging update.
  • Truphone's Local Anywhere SIM
  • Android and the HTC Magic (it's not getting labelled the G2).

And that's it for our MWC podcasts - we'll be back, along with Rafe, for a full Insight podcast next week.

Listen to the full podcast online, download the MP3 file or subscribe to the RSS Feed.

Guys and gals, sorry for the shameless plug: feel free to check out my remarks, shots etc. in my MWC report at http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum...ad.php?t=82443

Note that, the article being over 24 kchars long, I had to cut it into three parts (there’s a 10kchar limit on posts here). Currently (02/20/2009 10:17PM CET), only the first part is visible, the two other parts are avaiting moderation. That is, if you still can’t see them, return to the article later.

Is the new messaging app that is being released in the new eseries phones going to available on fp1 devices? I have an n82 and an e71 and the weakest part of both phones is the messaging app. I sync with an exchange server so i have not been using the current version of messaging.

Thanks for any insight you might have on this matter and thanks for the podcasts, i enjoyed them!
