Nokia Audiobooks gets big update

Published by Steve Litchfield at 16:04 UTC, December 19th 2008

Continuing Nokia Beta Labs current splurge, Nokia Audiobooks has today had a big update, with a simpler installation procedure, wider compatibility, UI improvements (including a clock), different time intervals in the sleep timer, plus a better audiobook manager with tighter integration with a PC, better audio book 'ripping', plus the usual bug fixes.

Janne Vainio, the main Nokia audiobook developer, says of this update: "My favourite books are made of paper and leather but I am also big fan of audiobooks, which enable book “reading” in occasions normal books can not be read. I apologized for big delay in updating the software but it is currently developed just as a side project within other activities, so it is not really lack of interest but just lack of time to make so slow updates. Anyhow, here it comes finally as a small Christmas present, hopefully answering at least some of the good comments we have received. We are still reading ALL OF THEM even not have time to answer for everybody anymore, so please keep feedback coming it is extremely useful especially taking into consideration our limited resources for testing and bug hunting."

Well, this is great news. Nokia Audiobooks is one of my favorite apps for my Nokia 6120c...I've created several audiobooks, but there were always a few quirks in the process. Good job, Nokia Beta Labs...some of the most useful apps I own have come from there (e.g. Internet Radio).
