We've covered Python in passing before, but any wannabe on-device or RAD programmers might like to look at Daniel Rocha's latest piece, pointing out the good and bad points of Python (for S60), along with useful pointers and links.

Hi srw985,

You could use the Python for S60 for 3rd edition phones. It should work fine for 3rd Edition FP2 phones as well.

However, note that a Nokia signed version will not work on non-Nokia devices (like Samsung). If Python for S60 needs manufacturer capabilities, then the manufacturer needs to have it signed with those capabilities (or you need to get a developer certificate with those capabilities, approved by the manufacturer).

I'm not sure what kind of signing Python for S60 needs (I've only installed it on Nokia phones myself).
