Beautifying S60 with TAT

There's an interesting interview here, on SymbianOne, with The Astonishing Tribe (TAT), who are behind the transitions and other animated elements in S60 3rd Edition FP2 and also, apparently, behind the Samsung i450's novel Music player application. While you're visiting you might also want to read this piece on a UIQ developer's perspective on the Symbian Foundation. Both are well worth a read over lunch or tea!

Kastor from TAT is used on Walkman 2.0, Walkman 3.0 (w950 and w960), and in G700/g900 media menu

maybe its just me - but when i played with an N78 with all the anims on
it was the slowest most frustrating experience I've ever had. was fine with it
all turned off.
and the carousel menus are a joke - please lose them nokia.
You'll note that (excluding the generally pointless - but pretty - coverflow)
theres no fancy animations on the iPhone
the HTC diamond similarly suffers from too much bling
and not enough zing.
