Minor Maps Updates

Published by Steve Litchfield at 22:05 UTC, June 26th 2008

This is going to sound like I'm on some sad, geeky maps-watch, but... I've been on a sad, geeky maps watch and have noticed that there's a new version of Nokia Maps online, v2.0.2402 - and no, I've no idea what's new. There's also a new MapLoader, v1.3.12, promising 'improved compatibility'. Just thought someone out there might like to know.

Only if you choose N95 8gb, for the original N95 is still 2204.

It's available at least also for the N82.

For the N95 the difference might be that when you click there you first get to a page inviting you to update your firmware. Could very well be someone forgot to update the download link for that page.

I assume the new maploader doesn't include the shop function the beta 2 does?

Dont suppose anyone knows why the prices on there are different to the ones displayed on your phone?

Both.

Cost for drive and walk from the phone menu are:

30 days - £6

90 days - £19.94

1 year - £55.83

Far too expensive imo.

Maploader prices (remember, this is the beta 2 of maploader).

30 day - £7.12

90 day - £19.78

1 year - £55.41

All prices are for UK and IRE Maps.

Though I have found out that its likely you get 90 free navigation with new phones, certainly the 6220C, and I bet the N96 does too. Any N78 owners have it?

is it just me or buying the Walk only navigation is utterly pointless?

I did get for a month but I really can't find a reason to pay for it again. it doesn't talk to me during navigation, the "breadcrumbs" disappear way to quickly to be useful - creating a route, showing it on the screen is no worse and it's for free :(
