Does the W960 Walkman live up to the name?

After my own review of the Sony Ericsson W960, I sent it up to music expert Ewan for some more detailed examination of its core Walkman functionality. Here's part 1 of Ewan's analysis, looking at the Walkman interface and accessibility.

"Yes, the Sony Ericsson W960 is a UIQ3-powered smartphone. Yes, it’s got all the bells and whistles we come to expect from a Symbian device. And yes, Steve’s looked at it quite intensely from that point of view. But this is a 'Walkman' phone. This is the smartphone to which music comes first and everything else is secondary. Over the next few articles I’m going to (mentally) ditch the Opera web browser, the PIM suite, and the third party applications.

If SE want to brand this as a Walkman, then let’s review it like any other walkman, or any other digital music player. Starting with the player itself, but taking in the connectivity for transfer and the ancillary media players, this is going to stretch the W960 to its limit."
