Who needs 3G anyway?

Despite all the fast 3.5G devices now available, it's still a criminal waste to have to download 1MB of HTML and photos just so you can read 1K of text. Which is why I love mobile portals and transcoders. And the folks at
igloo have told me about their portal, which looks very well stocked. And don't forget about two other low bandwidth solutions,
Mippin and
Mowser, both of which have been updated recently. Happy browsing!

All this fretting about 3.5G kills me. I live in the northern home counties and still can't get 3G. Yes, according to Vodafone's map I should be able to get it and to a degree I do. It's just that the signal is not strong enought to be usable

You atleast get 3G to a degree. In India, we are still surving on EDGE.

At least to me 3G is important, I send a lot of photos out of my phone, and altough the upload speed is not that great, 3G is definitely the best way.
The web pages I need to use are mostly render-heavy and I maintain/update a website whilst out and about. 3G frees me from being tied to a desk. Thank goodness for 3G.
