The N81 gets its first firmware update

The Nokia N81 has a firmware update available via Nokia Software Update in many regions today. The new version is 10.0.058 for the N81-1 and 10.0.035 for the N81-3, with improvements in WLAN performance, memory transfer and camera stability. Thanks Nokia, but please don't forget about the N93 and, dare I say it, the N95...

Could have used this when I was testing the N81. My WiFi would cut out constantly. Have 0 issues with the N95 and N95 8 GB on the same router so I ruled that one out.

I might be completely wrong, but I think I read somewhere that the new firmware with demand paging was under testing since middle of October... I hope that post was correct ;-)

Referring to previous post... firmware under testing for N95...
Also, I'm wondering if the firmware for the N81 was rushed to switch on the naviwheel by default... Has anyone tried yet?

The new N-Gage service will be available by installing a downloadable application, you won't need a firmware update.
Unless you're referring to something else apart from the app?

Even if there was no new firmware, the N-Gage application WILL be available as an individual download, so from a gaming perspective the firmware doesn't really matter.
