iPhone-like screen auto-rotation hits the N95

Am I sad for finding this pretty cool? And yes, of course it should really have been part of the Nokia N95's firmware... but check out this video on the N95 Blog, showing auto-screen rotation according to the N95's built-in level sensor. Pretty smooth, although the software's still in testing.

I downloaded FIFA08 (soccer game) on to my E90. It is the most impressive game I've ever come across for a phone. Really brilliant.
However, it only works on the external screen. When opened on the internal screen a message states "Please rotate screen to view this application". Now - imagine how brilliant this game would be on the large internal screen!
But I can not find a way of rotating the internal screen! Is there a way?

I wonder what else this level sensor can be used for? I take it there's no accelerometers in the N95, so what's the difference? Could this be used for games or is it more basic than what would be required for that?

Apparently there is an accelerometer in the N95:

at ChemicalBrother: the sensor is used to detect whether a picture is taken in landscape or portrait mode.

"the sensor is used to detect whether a picture is taken in landscape or portrait mode." ..... and it's a right pain as it tends to get it wrong when you are looking vertically down on the subject.

I had no idea about this sensor in the n95, it explains a lot to me though. I often wondered why some top down photos came out upside down. Interesting.

Affirmative on the "upside down" landscape photos experience. Quite frustrating.

Now someone just needs to work out how to use the sensor as a pedometer. . .

A quick question: does the N95 8GB have the accelerometer built into it?
