DivX Mobile Player gets update

There's a new beta of DivX Mobile Player on the loose for S60 and UIQ-based smartphones. v0.89 features restructured menus and softkeys, a new file browser with thumbnail previews, plus manual adjustment for A/V synchronization. See the DivX blog for links and more info.

"Version 0.89 is a Beta release that will expire on 1-Apr-2008. Make sure to correctly set your phone to today's date before you install DivX Mobile Player.

DivX Mobile Player for Palm OS (Garnet) is planned to be discontinued, however there is an update (version 0.872) available that expires in April.

Version 0.89 new features:

  • Restructured menus and softkeys
  • New file browser with thumbnail previews
  • Manual adjustment available for A/V synchronization

There are some known problems

  • Motorola Q phone has improper screen orientation
  • Sony Ericsson W950 switches audio randomly between headset and speaker
  • UIQ 3.0 phones turn the backlight off during playback
  • Windows Mobile phones with slide out keyboards distort screen orientation "

Its a great update,interface is much improved,strange in that there are no known bugs/issues for S60 phones,but are for UIQ and WM phones...:D

Well, actually there are some bugs. If you get a "Battery low" warning while seeking, you cannot stop it and it will seek until the end of the file.
