The N93i gets A2DP at last
Published by Steve Litchfield at 18:29 UTC, August 7th 2007
Apparently, A2DP has been retrofitted to the Nokia N93i in a new firmware update. Anyone here got a unit to try out the process? Here's the link to the Updater (usual backup/sync precautions apply) (via IntoMobile) And with news that FIBA has done a deal to outfit all its reporters with N93i's, with a highlight on the Video Center application, maybe this has been added as well?

I wonder whether Nokia will bungle the n93i upgrade to A2DP like they did with the n73 and render TomTom bluetooth receivers useless!!

I hope us N93 owners aren't forgotten! We want this too.

Maybe the n93 truly will be the forgotten phone.

Great new, but it seems that Nokia has forgotten the very expensive N93.

Yes, it is a bit unfair that just because there is an 'i' the n93 is been ignored altogether... I have been waiting for a firmware update since long hoping it will fix a few bugs that my n93 has.

Does anyone know which other S60 phones have gained A2DP recently in firmware upgrades?
I'd heard rumours that the N73 had, but I've not seen confirmation.

I heard that the n80 got A2DP through a firmware update recently...

So is it a good idea to get an N93 now or is it much outdated?
Honestly i cant afford N95 and am not comfortable with what users say about it`s battery and slider problems......i also dont like N73`s joytisk and how slow the device is!.
On the other hand,i like the looks of the black N93 and am convinced with it`s specs(fast processor,3D hardware acceleration, very good video recording, good battery,robust/solid built,wifi...etc)
what do you think guys??

Honestly, I am pretty happy with my n93. There are a couple of issues though, viz:
1) Low on ram
2) Images attract static if not clicked in optimum light. Flash is not that useful.
3) A few bugs exist in the phone - like applications installed on the memory card do not work if the phone is restarted. The only way out is re-insert the card. Also, sometimes people calling me cannot hear me properly if the call came while I was listening to music on the headphones. Nokia Care Centres have not been able to resolve these problems yet.
I am hoping the point 3 problems are firmware bugs which will be resolved soon. Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

The N93 is not being made anymore and will become dificult to find, so just get the N93i.

malerocks:
N73 suffers from problems (1) and (3)+the joystick isnt comfortable at all so i guess ALL s60 V3 got thier downsides:)
blue13x:
N93 is available brand new where i live but not that easy to find.
as for N93i....i dont like how it looks and how it attracts finger prints like a magnet.
thanks guys.
