Esmertec, Penrillian and Scalado in UIQ Alliance program

Published by at

UIQ Technology announced the addition of Esmertec, Penrillian and Scalado to its UIQ Alliance program. The UIQ Alliance program provides pre-approved and pre-integrated services and programs to potential UIQ licensees enabling UIQ Technology to offer a more complete platform offering.

Esmertec will provide a multi-tasking JVM to potential licensees. While licensees may chose to provide there own JVM (as Sony Ericsson does with its own Java Platform) the partnership with Esmertec allows UIQ to offer a more complete solution and will decrease the time to market for licensees using the Esmertec solution.

Penrillain offers consultancy services with a speciality in porting from other platforms.

Scalado's imaging software (already used in some UIQ phones) provides improved imaging software performance (e.g. viewing, zooming in on images).
