The DIY E61 lanyard!

Published by Steve Litchfield at 11:21 UTC, May 28th 2007

The Eseries blog has the details and photo of a successful DIY lanyard fitting for a Nokia E61. Interesting stuff, but note that any warranty will be voided, of course!

The lack of lanyard support for E series Nokias is annoying.

I dislike belt cases (which I catch on doorways and other furniture) and loose in a shirt pocket is an invitation to fall out.

I made a lanyard fitting for my E70 by buying a spare battery cover and drilling a small hole. I also had to create a "groove" in the body of the phone to allow the rear cover to be refitted "flush"

Well worth the effort (and the fiver for the cover).

I dunno if this is a good idea for the E61, it's a pretty bulky phone, I wouldn't want it stored anywhere but in a pocket or bag.

I suppose they just don't see many business people using them.

where were you able to find a spare battery door for the E70? I haven't found anyone that sells one. clos1084 (at) gmail

thanks
