Symbian scores a half-century as 50th commercial phone model ships in Japan
TOKYO, Japan -16 February, 2007 - Symbian Limited today welcomes NTT DoCoMo's launch of the FOMA D903iTV which is based on Symbian OS™ and started shipping in Japan today.
Symbian OS is the global market-leading open mobile operating system for smartphones.
The FOMA D903iTV is manufactured by Symbian customer Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and includes the MOAP platform.
Symbian continues to focus on delivering a flexible, robust and open mobile operating system which gives handset manufacturers and network operators the ability to develop differentiated phones, faster, more easily and at lower cost for different market segments and regions.
