The Nseries to be expanded, in four-city live event?

Published by Steve Litchfield at 10:18 UTC, September 21st 2006

Eagle-eyed me(!) has just spotted public notice of this simultaneous four-city live event, Open Studio 2006, to happen next Tuesday. In fact, it's a lot more than four, as separate events are also scheduled by Nokia PR in many other cities. Rafe and Darla will be in New York, I'll be in London, to make sure you don't miss anything. Our best guess is a clutch of new Nseries 'multimedia computers', but you'll have to wait til Tuesday for any more....

Obviously, most people around here already know most of the specs of the TBA devices. What I still hope for are HVGA or VGA displays. Since its pretty much a given that they will use Symbian OS 9.2 Feature Pack 1, they cant use the 352 x 416 pixel resolution of the old handsets. Going back to QVGA would be a step back and won't see me drooling to get one of these. Having looked at an almost print like screen as on the N90, I simply cant back to the pixelated look of the N73, N93 and E61. Keeping fingers crossed :-)

Like me... ;) But only change my N73 now, for an VGA screen! Any other, will be most of same.

Ok I feel in the mood for a couple of wild guesses at new things they may try.

1) Built in GPS.
2) Touchscreen.

My dream device:

A Nokia E61 with VGA touch screen, HSDPA, 2 MP autofocus camera and videoconferencing. And while we are at it: give us germans separate buttons for ä, ö, ü, ß. If the swedish layout can incorporate this, why not ours???

Hear hear.

I've been putting off getting my next phone until something like this turns up. P990i sounded good, but it just doesn't seem to have delivered.

Here's hoping Nokia wins back my fickle heart on Tuesday.
