Caring about Nokia Care Centres - if you live in Saudi Arabia

Published by at

I was very interested in a Nokia utility that's appeared in the Ovi Store for most regions, promising location of, and information on, the various Nokia Care Centres around us. Most impressively, there's a full Qt-written, glossy interface and there's clearly been a lot of work gone into the project. Screenshots below. Unfortunately, it's (so far) only for Nokia KSA, i.e. for Saudi Arabia. Here's hoping the work can be extended to other countries and regions!

Here are screens of the Nokia Care Centre application:

The application opens with a delightful sci-fi effect set of sliding metal doors and generally polished graphics - and the Nokia Care Centre app runs throughout in English or Arabic, you can toggle languages at any point.

In addition to social functions (e.g. following Nokia Care Centre activities on social networks), you can look up the nearest Care Centre (as found by GPS), 'navigate' there (a route is planned using the Ovi Maps API and you then follow it on-screen in map mode) and even check on the status of a device repair. Some of this functionality wasn't working from my base in the UK, but I got the idea. Impressive stuff - now if this was only all available for all regions....
