It also available for pre-order in Nokia online stores in Germany (€459), Italy (€429) and China. Pre-orders will also be available from a number online retailers shortly. The pre-order price reflects the typical premium for Nokia devices ordered at the beginning of their product life cycle. The price usually falls from a combination of retail competition, increased availability and Nokia wholesale price cuts, the latter usually coming after six months.

For example, the Nokia X6 pre-order price was £449 (€504), but quickly established a price point at around £350 and now, two years later, it available from the Nokia UK store for £249 or £200 from other online retailers. We would expect the E6 to follow a similar pricing pattern.

Nokia X7

The Nokia X7 features a four inch AMOLED touchscreen, well suited for video playback and gaming, an 8 megapixel EDoF camera, comprehensive connectivity options and a full range of social and entertainment software. It has a premium design, which mixes glass and stainless steel, to give a distinctive style with diagonally inset corners and a gently curved back. The X7 will be available in Q2 at a cost of €380 (£335/$548) before taxes and subsidies.

Along with the Nokia E6, it will be one of the first devices to ship with the Symbian 'Anna' software update. This update brings enhanced text entry capabilities (portrait QWERTY and split screen text entry), an improved browser, a fresh icon set and numerous other performance and usability improvements.

The X7 is the new top of the range model for Nokia Xseries, devices positioned as entertainment (music, video and gaming) and social devices. The X7 is the first Symbian^3 device in the Xseries family and represents a very significant step up from the X6. It runs on the same hardware family (processor, RAM) and core software as other Symbian^3 devices; with the positioning largely achieved through the combination of design and styling.
