Nimbuzz may not now have any Skype integration, but it's relentless in adding every other IM feature under the sun. Version 3 arrived last November, bringing a truck load of improvements, and we now have v3.01 bringing another "9 awesome reasons" to upgrade, including better call quality, custom wallpapers and an avatar gallery.

Nimbuzz 3.01 isn't yet in the Ovi Store, so get it from Nimbuzz.com. The '.01' version bump doesn't do justice to the actual changelow. Besides bug fixes, there's:

1. Improved Call Quality – thanks to peer to peer call connectivity, which should also reduce occurrences of dropped calls.
     
2. More space for your chats - with one tap, you can hide the top navigation bar and the menu bar. 
   
    
3. Chat bubbles – that "bring an iPhone like chat experience to your (Nokia) Symbian phone".
     
4. Custom wallpapers in the chat screen – choose a color or an image from your gallery to display as background for your chats.
    
5. Custom color for the text font in your chat screen
     
6. Call Quality Indicator – so you can check the expected call quality before you make a call - the rating is based on the speed of your current data connection.
    
   
      
7. Fast group selection – with a tap on the Friends Bar, situated right below your profile pic in the contact list, you will get a pop up with all the available groups so you can easily view only your friends from Facebook, only phone numbers or your favorite friends, and so on.
    
8. Free Avatars – choose new and exciting avatars for your profile picture from "N-World".
     
9. Last Seen Online - shows you the last time your friend was seen on Nimbuzz.
