Once upon a time, there was a story in your smartphone

There are more than enough news sites and commentary around for you to read on your phone. What I need is a snack sized piece of fiction to get me thinking, make me smile, have my heart fly, and entertain me on a daily basis. If you do as well, www.cellstories.net is for you, providing a new short story every day, laid out to work on your smartphone's small screen.

The site, optimised for your mobile screen (and thus compatible with pretty much every modern smartphone) not only gives you a daily story, but also a bookshelf of previous stores for you to explore and (in some cases) read again.

So who’s behind this? Luckily that’s an FAQ:

CellStories was conceived and built by Daniel Sinker, who was the founding editor of Punk Planet magazine in another life. Thankfully, the death of print meant discovering something much more valuable: mobile publishing. But that previous life also meant that he met a great number of authors, publishers, and other Really Interesting People, many of whom were kind enough to supply some of the great pieces you've read.

A simple idea, well implemented, with a great artistic vision. Love it.
