Symbian Stammtisch invite

Published by at

There's an open invite out for Symbian fans in London from 5pm onwards on June 14th - Tahir Mahmood and others from the Foundation are welcoming people with ideas and suggestions, with a particular focus, I imagine, on a new 'Kudos' system that Tahir is setting up. There's also free beer, apparently. Full details over on the official Symbian Foundation blog.

"So what exactly is Symbian up to? We plan to put a system in place whereby Kudos is awarded to individuals for their contributions to the community – for example: raising a bug, discussions on forums, proposing a fix to code, helping out at events, blogging, etc.

Why is Symbian doing this? Well, there’s a large number of people who contribute to the community through many activities and we want to make sure that these activities are recognised by other members of the community. We are taking a meritocratic approach, so recognizing contributors is also about empowering them to gain more weight in the community. In short, we want to make our contributors feel valued and appreciated… and we want to make them famous!"

Details of the meet here.
