Firmware updates on the N85 to v31
Published by Ewan Spence at 12:39 GMT, December 14th 2009
Today seems to be the day for firmware upgrades, as the Nokia N85 gets a small jump to v31.002. Downloadable over the air (*#0000# on your handset as always), we always recommend a backup before you do this, even though in theory everything will remain untouched!
This is mostly a bugfix release, with tweaks on streamings, the naming convention of Gmail and Googlemail in the UK and Germany identified so far. We'll keep an eye out for the change-logs and which product versions currently have this available.

Happy n85.
But, wot is going on with nokia5800xm community, the only touchscreen phone is left in darkness no kinetic and no possible webkit data compression and option save settings, or do we have to move for droids or winmo's. it's really silly management from nokia!

Hardly left in darkness since it had 6 updates to V31 in only 12 months.
As for kinetic and other stuff you mention, they are not part of the specification of that phone so why expect them? A droid is going to be more than twice the cost of a 5800xm.

I've had this on my phone for almost week now.
Bug fixes? It still drops the data connection when I'm about to click "post" for a facebook status update. Haven't had the bizarre "I won't send your SMS" error, but this has been a light texting week for me ...
