The Nokia E52 in Black... and Internet Radio
Published by Steve Litchfield at 8:33 UTC, August 28th 2009
Following on from my review of the Nokia E52, it transpires that Nokia do intend to make a black(ish) version (with less keypad visibility problems) - here's their official photographic proof. Also, although Internet Radio isn't in the firmware, the version for the 6210 Navigator apparently works perfectly (official download here). Now, what about Podcasting, ladies and gents? (thanks to kazutoyo and WizzMob)

There's a version of Podcasting for some FP1 phones available for download
here. Has anybody tried it?

Yes, first thing I tried. No go. We need a full FP2 standalone, official build of Podcasting.

Oh well, it was worth a shot. As a temporary workaround, you can use the web feeds section of the web browser, although that won't download new media files automatically for you like Podcasting does.

The black version was included way back when the original press release came out, and it's on Forum Nokia too. Whether it's an abandoned colour scheme or something they're holding in reserve is anyone's guess.

well, as for me, i'm either getting e52 in black or not getting it at all for white keys on grey is very distrubing - you can't letters sometimes. If they're planning to release a black version not too soon, well I guess I won't buy it and will be looking for something else.

Has anybody tried AudioBay's Podcast Player?
I'm expecting delivery of my E52 in the next 2 days & will try this out...
unless anybody tells me that they've already tried it & it doesn't work!
Kazutoyo
Pre-ordered a black E52 today from
www.katshing.se, their preliminary delivery date is october 7th, hopefully it won't change.

The store
put up a photo of the black E52 today, but it doesn't look like the
old Nokia photo.
Not that it matters to me, I think the new black version look quite nice too! But I'm kinda curious of what look my phone will have, which I hopefully have in my hands a week from now
They also show a
white E52, but there's no release date on that one.

Got my black E52 today, I'm very pleased

Tnx

Nokia Italy has a black version, albeit with a silver rim for €299. Nokia Finland has a completely black one for €349. Strange how the price changes depending on which Nokia site you visit. Nokia Ireland only has the grey/silver and maroon version, but has the black/silver and white/grey E55! Nokia Ireland doesn't sell any phones online! You have to visit a Nokia store. I think the networks have dictated that to try to stop SIM free phones proliferating. Anyway it is very obvious that Nokia is playing games with it's various markets with respect to handset covers and keypad colours. I would say they have at least five colours for every part of the outer phone in whatever combination, but are not releasing them. Special Edition anyone?

Hi,
My N80 died and I'm looking for a replacement. I'm getting mixed reviews on the E52 online after the latest firmware are there still issues with sound quality?
I'm looking for a small form factor with wifi and big battery.
Thanks

I am happy with my black E51 but it is getting old and I would like to have the improvements of the E52. All I want is a black E52, for sale in North America. Nokia make dozens of phones but that is all I want. I don't want an iPhone 4, Google phone or a Blackberry, just a candybar smart phone with numerical keys and T9 typing. But I cannot buy this phone. What is wrong with this picture?

Nokia is a standard company. I have already Nokia cell phone. Nokia E52 is a good model. It has expentional battery means you can stay connected wheather you are at home, at office and at travelling. Nokia E52 is original graphite Grey E52 model. It has now available in black colors. Nokia E52 Black reflects the features found in the first model. For Nokia E52 balck color model you can contact your nearest Nokia shop.
