SIQ 2009 Extended - Two Extra Weeks To Submit Your Widget

Published by at

Samsung has extended the deadline for submissions to SIQ 2009. You now have until 28 August to submit a widget and be in to win £15,000. For developers who have already submitted a widget, Samsung will accept resubmissions enabling developers to polish their widget further.

From Samsung Mobile Innovator:

You asked for it on our discussion boards (and numerous emails to members of our team) so we’ve delivered. You have an extra two weeks to get your widget in for the 2009 Samsung IQ Win BIG with Widgets competition.

But I’ve already submitted my Samsung Mobile Widget, that’s not fair!

Agreed – so if you want to do some further refinements and resubmit your entry that’s completely acceptable. Just write us a note telling us this is what you’re doing and we’ll disregard your previous submission. We want you to be happy you’ve submitted the best widget possible.

Looking for inspiration?

In our Knowledge base we have three great technical papers that cover widget development. In the first our resident author and Symbian expert Ben Morris sets the scene for why widgets have arrived with such gusto on the mobile stage, while in the second and third seasoned industry professional Richard Bloor writes a case study on two different implementations of widgets on Samsung devices and then provides a detailed overview of the Samsung Mobile Widget framework. Reading these three papers will give you a great background to Samsung Mobile Widgets and will hopefully get your creative juices flowing.

The Technical Papers are below:

We have also had some great questions asked on our Discussion boards. Our members are obviously engaged with the Samsung Mobile Widget story. If you have any questions please post them here and we’ll answer you right back, provided that another member doesn’t beat us to it and give you all the information that you need.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
