The Nokia-sponsored Word Of Mouth (WOM) blog has launched a dedicated N93 blog, with lots of links I'd never seen before, including official news that the new Phone Software Update system will carry N93 firmware (and presumably that for other 3rd Edition devices) as from September 1st, only a week or so away.
Symbian has released Q2 2006 sales figures, showing the usual robust growth. Highlights include 23 new Symbian OS-powered models introduced in Q2, ownership of 92% of the worldwide 3G market, 12 million smartphones shipped in Q2, bringing cumulative total to 83 million worldwide. In an innovative push, top developer SmartphoneWare has made available a special 'extranet' for local mobile phone store owners to be able to sell on third party software at the point of sale of the hardware. More details here.

S60.com continue to put out licensed games as free 'exclusives', this month featuring shoot-em-up Galaxy Fighter. Curiously, their exclusives are for only older S60 2nd Edition smartphones though, which is a bit of a shame...

It's Grid time again - I've recently had in for review the HTC TyTN, the major new player on the communicator scene, and have added it to the Grid, along with numerous other score tweaks. Can Windows Mobile swing it for you or will a Symbian OS device still come out tops?
