The Inquirer have managed a sneak preview of the forthcoming BenQ Symbian UIQ device. It does not give as a lot more information but the device is more compact than the P800 as it has a smaller screen but with the same resoltion. It wont be locked like the Motorola 3 A920. Strangely it does not have a JoyStick/Pad but uses some of the number keys for screen direction.
3 have announced a develop competition for the A920. Developers can register and find more information on the 3 website. Prizes include training vouchers, handsets, Macromedia Studio MX2004 software, Motorola Bluetooth headsets and Macromedia jackets. Applications can be written in C++, J2ME or Flash.

Hutchison 3G UK Holdings Ltd has locked down the new Motorola-built (A920) smart phone for its "3" service, seemingly in an effort to stop the device being used for nefarious purposes. However, the plan denies users of the device access to applications written for the similar Symbian-based handset from Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB.
Opera Software announced today that the Motorola A920 (launched last week on the 3 network) will feature the Opera browser - the first Motorola handset to do so, and the first Opera browser on the UMTS phone network.
