The Wi-Fi Alliance has been granted IEEE 802-11b and WPA certification (announced today by Nokia). What all that means is the 9500 Communicator confirms to all the compatibility requirements by the Wi-Fi Alliance, so any connection problems you may have are entirely your own fault, because the phone is fine.
Nokia and Smartner announced today that the push e-mail service Smartner duality is also coming to series 80 devices. This in addition to Blackberry which will come to series 80 early next year as well.

Nokia today have announced the Nokia 9300 Communicator, the 'smartest' Smartphone. It's effectivly a consumer version of the 9500, and lacks the Wi-Fi connectivity and Digital Camera. It's still an impressive package, featuring Tri Band Support (900/1800/1900 for European customers, and 850/1800/1900 for Americans), compatible with GSM, GPRS and EDGE. While lacking Wi-Fi, it still carries Ir and Bluetooth, and runs Series 80, on Symbian OS 7.0. Nokia have announced that the Nokia 9500 will be able to connect Research in Motion's Blackberry Services, which includes support for the Enterprise and Internet Service. This will enable push-based email, better viewing of attachments, and access to your calendar information on the server. Support for Microsoft Exchnage and Lotus Domino is ready, and Novell Groupwise will follow later.
Psiloc today have made available their suite of 9500 apps before the launch of the phone - perhaps they're hoping all the journalists getting review copies will look at their apps as well and mention them to their readers. Anyway, pop on over to get copies of World Traveller, IrRemote, HotSpot Finder, Data Guard, Secure Storage and Task Manager. They also have localisation packages for Arabic and Hebrew being prepared.

Psiloc have pre announced several programs they will be publishing for the Nokia 9500 communicator as the availability date for the 9500 approaches.
