Polar Tigers have posted a late beta of Army vs Crime, a turn based strategy game for MidP phones, inclusing Nokia's Series 60 and N-Gage smartphones. Global Terrorism, multiple levels, and an isometric look that reminds me just a little bit of Syndicate.
Gerard Wiener, the head of Nokia's Games division including all things related to N-Gage, is to take part in a question and answer session in the N-Gage Arena chat room on Thursday the 22nd of September 2005 at 1700 UTC / 10AM PST / 6 PM London Time. You don't need to be an Arena member to enter the chat room and listen, but you need to be registered in order to talk to other people or submit questions to Gerard Wiener. Registration is free, simply click here and fill in your details to become a member.
More customisating your N-Gag with the Arena Fan Packs, downlaodable collections of wallpapers, ringotnes, sms alerts and custom MMS's and Arena Launcher skins. This time it's Mile High Pinball and Rifts getting the treatment.
There's a sneak peek at Infinite Dreams K-Rally available. It'll be a title you can purchase and install yourself (ie not an MMC Game) but a cross of Micro Machines and Spy Hunter is certainly one to look forward to, especially when you consider just how good Sky Force was from the same people.
Good news, as the Q4 season of N-Gage MMC game sis about to begin, Nokia have released the first (hopefully of many) demos. The System Rush Demo is first out the bag, so you don't need to wait on teh reviews of this Wipoeout / Tron / Hacking / Racing game, just head on over for the free download.
So, teh N-Gage QD Silver? Shameless marketing? Or does it tell us more about the N-Gage Eco-system than the a simply bling paint job most people will mark it down as? Ewan's review of the Silver QD looks beyond the device to see what's happening in the N-Gage World (and yes, there are pictures).
Nokia have launched a silver version of the N-Gage QD - Ewan was at the event today, but I suspect most of the interest will be in the other titbits of news that he brings back...
Dark Kioko is a Pinball game for Series 60 devices. With a single board, and an anime theme, it's certainly a focused title, plays smoothly, and could tide over N-Gage owners until Mile High Pinball arrvies.
Atomanic is a great new puzzle game from BitRabbit. If you're looking for another Match Three/Falling Blocks style game, don't bother. Atomanic asks you to move atoms around an increasingly difficult playing field to build a specifc molecule. We'll have a review in the next few days.
Nokia's N-Gage Arena Launcher has been updated to version 2.5. Note this release is only for the QD, the N-Gage Classic users will have to wait (why I don't know, there's very little difference in the Operating System). New features include Public Group Chat, Friend Rankings, Login Message and Filtered Content.
NesGame caught my eye, not because it's another NES emulator for Series 60, but because of the limitations it has for it's "demo before purchase" part of the shareware cycle. It allows a maximum of 50 key presses before it asks for the reg code. I'm not sure this is enough time to evalutate the app and get people convinced to buy it.
