NTT DoCoMo announce 12 new MOAP-S phones

NTT DoCoMo today unveiled its new 905i and 705i ranges of phones. Amongst these phones are 12 new Symbian MOAP phones from Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, Sharp, Sony Ericsson and Nokia. The 905i range are DoCoMo's high end phones with features such as in-built GPS, enhanced international roaming, support for Flash Lite 3 and advanced multimedia support. Read on for more.

ScreenPlay and FreeWay explained

ScreenPlay, FreeWay, technologies for the next 10 years

Symbian has announced two key technologies for the next generation of Symbian OS-powered smartphones, ensuring that superfast mobile broadband and complex interface, video and gaming requirements won't be a problem for the smartphones of 2008 and beyond. The Symbian Smartphone Show goes 'final'

Symbian has finalised its agenda and show layout for its annual Smartphone Show in London, on 16-17th October at the ExCeL centre. Listed below are some of the last minute speaker sign ups and some thumbnails, plus links. The show is free to attend, as is the AAS pub meet on the evening of the 15th, details to be announced, but the prize list is pretty impressive....(!) Oh, and keep the evening of the 16th free as well - watch this space.

34.6 million Symbian OS handsets shipped in H1 2007

Symbian today announced that 18.7 million Symbian OS handsets shipped in Q2 2007, a year on year increase of 52%. There are now 122 Symbian models in the market (up from 86 this time last year) with a further 62 in development (55 last year). Cumulatively 145 million Symbian OS phones have been shipped.

Four new MOAP-S handsets from NTT DoCoMo

NTT DoCoMo announced the new 704i Series of FOMA phones; four of these phones run the MOAP on Symbian software platform. The D704i (Mitsubishi), the F704i (Fujitsu), the SH704i (Sharp) and the S0704i (Sony Ericsson) are mid to high range phones with a number of unique features.

SO903iTV MOAP on Symbian handset ships

NTT DoCoMo today announced that the SO903iMOAP on Symbian handset has started shipping in Japan. The SO903i is a Mobile TV handset (one segment technology) and features a BRAVIA banded 3 inch wide WQVGA screen along with a 2 megapixel camera and the usual music playback features. Another year, another Show

Symbian has announced their 2007 Smartphone Show, at the usual ExceL centre, on Oct 16/17th, along with a new web site for the event. All About Symbian will be there in force, of course, with an extra gathering, details to be announced.

Sharp's SH904i launches and ships, with 3" touch-screen

NTT DoCoMo has launched and shipped the Sharp FOMA SH904i, based on Symbian OS and the MOAP platform. The SH904i is equipped with a touchpad to give 'an operational feel similar to a PC', and a 3" widescreen. Glossy pic below...
