Greenpeace have released the Green Electronics Guide , a look at how enviromentally friendly companies are with their electronic products. Symbian has released Q2 2006 sales figures, showing the usual robust growth. Highlights include 23 new Symbian OS-powered models introduced in Q2, ownership of 92% of the worldwide 3G market, 12 million smartphones shipped in Q2, bringing cumulative total to 83 million worldwide. Simon Judge is reporting on his blog that some operators (Vodafone Japan) are locking down S60 3rd Edition handsets so that only Symbian Signed applications can be installed. This means that self-signed applications can not be installed.

It's Grid time again - I've recently had in for review the HTC TyTN, the major new player on the communicator scene, and have added it to the Grid, along with numerous other score tweaks. Can Windows Mobile swing it for you or will a Symbian OS device still come out tops?
