Steve Litchfield was at the Future Technologies conference in April 2007, organised by Forum Oxford. Among the speakers was Symbian's David Wood, speaking on the rise and rise of smartphones, their suitability to making Web 2.0 work and the importance of non-browser online applications.

Note that the relentless pace of the talk was mainly due to time pressure, the conference was already behind schedule at this point! Apologies for the mobile phone interference (ironic) from about the 18 minute mark onwards.

Thanks to David for letting us publish this and to Podcast Generation for providing a slightly higher quality audio feed than was possible with the Nokia N93 I was filming the talk on!

The Q and A session that followed was also interesting but was itself quite long and needs lots of editing for volume levels, this will form a later audio podcast.
