Hi there,
This was the answer from the Nokia USA Support (Nokia Care Contact Center)
to my request for info:
================================================== ===============
"In response to your inquiry about the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, we would like
to inform you that there is unavailable terminal program that you can install
on this device. We would like to let you know that the one of the main use
of Bluetooth connection on your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is for transferring/synchronizing
files from and to your computer such as multimedia files, contacts, and calendar entries.
We suggest that you check on third party programs for the availability of terminal program
that you need to emulate connection between your phone to the embedded computer."

I would like to stress that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic User Guide,
under "Bluetooth connectivity" states:
"This device is compliant with Bluetooth Specification 2.0 + EDR supporting
the following profiles: advanced audio distribution, ..., serial port, and
SIM access."
From that, I am guessing that the 5800 XM Bluetooth stack implements
the Serial Port Profile (SPP), and apparently, it would be easy for Nokia
to implement a simple terminal program, if they wished to do that.
Does anyone know where I can find a third-part terminal program that
emulates a serial port over Bluetooth for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic??
I have searched for it on the Internet. I could find a lot of programs
but not this one. Maybe I am looking at the wrong places...
I have already read:

Thanks.
