Google releases search client for S60
Google has released a native client for Google search for S60 phones. The application, available via the Google mobile site, places a shortcut to a Google search box on the Idle screen (also be accessible via the usual application launcher). Typing in a query to the search box and pressing search opens up Web and takes you to the results page for that Google query. It uses the new Google Mobile search service we mentioned a few weeks ago. Read on for more.
Read on in the full article.

Thanks corrected the link error.
The screenshots are from an N95 - 8GB - sim is in another device - hence offline profile. The Ovi icons are for Share Online v3, the others are standard on the N95 8GB.

Little fade-in message
OK, now know I have to use the "pen" key to bring up the search.
Now stop showing the little fade in "press \ to search". I hate it. Make it go away!
But I like quick access to Google.
*sigh*

Thanks, it works nicely on my E90, but only if I use the "standard" browser. It didn't work from the Opera mini browser.

The little popup 'press ctrl to search' is annoying so I've disabled that and moved the app to an Active Standby icon slot. It's a handy app to have for quick searching but I too look forward to Google's integration with Nokia's search program.

I find after using the app my phone doesn't disconnect automatically, I have to do a manual disconnection, which is kinda annoying. Does anyone else get this?

Chini, try changing your location. There should be a link "Not in Nehtherlands?". Go with the United States at least till you download the application.
Cheers.

Hmm weird, I guess I have to withdraw my previous comment - the app download is not available from desktop clients (at least in NL) and only through the S60-internal browser on my E61... ;??? Google, are you trying to hide or offer new functionality?
