Navigation without internet access?

Is there a possible way to use a navigation software e.g tomtom mobile and or without a GPS reciver just to look around on the maps? and dont download then from the internet, cus i want a navigation software preferd cracked and free and with a map pack and no need for internet access so i can find my way on the roads. I know wayfinder is good but it is so expensive :S

Please help me, does tomtom mobile 5.x require a internet connection to download maps or can u get the tomtom app with a map pack and a gps reciver so everthing is free after you got all that?

Im new to this forum, i knwo there is alot of navigation topics but i thought it was best to put this on aside.

Hope you understood, thanks in advance.

As you are new to the forums, you'd best re-read the forum rules you agreed to when you signed up: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum...ules#faq_rules

Small excerpt:
Quote:
All About Symbian does not condones the use of illgeal software. Discussion of use or directions on where to find illegal software is not allowed in the forums. If such messages are found then they will be deleted, and the author warned against such behaviour. This applies equally to the private messaging system as it does to publically posted messages. Illegal software includes, but is not limited too, posts detailing warez, hackz, crackz, swapping of registration codes and/or programs, posting full commercial versions, and IMEI hacks.

I didnt ask for where i can get illegal software or how to use it, i just asked if any navigation software like tomtom mobile and such need internet access or can u navigate with the GPS and maps on a memory card ONLY. i know wayfinder steams the maps to the phone, comeon read and replay skip the minor stuff.

It is difficult not to interpret this as a request for cracked software, which is illegal and not allowed on these forums, perhaps you did not mean what you said, maybe you should edit your post to ask if anyone knows of any Freeware navigation software.

The reason map packs cost so much is that they are very time consuming to make. Also, they are huge, the one for my friend's car takes up a whole DVD, it's probably not possible to fit much of a map on a memory card.

Grrr...

Okej this makes me angry, i DIDNT request where to find or how to use ANY illegal software i just said ID like to HAVE it CRACKED AND FREE.

But the main question was DO I NEED TO USE GPRS WITH TOMTOM MOBILE 5.2 OR CAN I JUST JUST TOMTOM AND A MAP PACK ON A MEMORYCARD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

It is unbelieveble how many people who cares about cracked software and forum rules, and where are the illegal forums?
And dont come with something lke: They wont get any profit if everyone is useing cracked software.

Don't blow your top. Cracked and free usually equals illegal, if it is about commercial software that is not free and needs to be paid for. A legal version needs no cracking, and TomTom is a commercial app you must pay for, if you want to use it.
