Summary

Do not be offensive or abusive. Please follow the basic rules of netiquette. Any complaints of question about implemntation of these rules by forum moderators should be directed to an admin.

All About Symbian Policy on Warez and other Illegal Program Use
All About Symbian does not condones the use of illgeal software. Discussion of use or directions on where to find illegal software is not allowed in the forums. If such messages are found then they will be deleted, and the author warned against such behaviour. This applies equally to the private messaging system as it does to publically posted messages. Illegal software includes, but is not limited too, posts detailing warez, hackz, crackz, swapping of registration codes and/or programs, posting full commercial versions, and IMEI hacks. In order this to be made clearer the admin team have drawn up the following simple to follow rules:

1. If something can be bought under no cicrumstance is to an illegal version of it to be posted or linked to on the forums.
2. Freeware or trial programs should only be posted as attachements if they are not available elsewhere, if they are available elsewhere link to them.
3. If in doubt do not post, please consult on of the admins.

All About Symbian's policy is non negotiable and there are no exceptions. We ask that, even if you do not agree with the policy you respect it while using the AAS forums.

Failure to comply is liable to result in the member in question being banned. You will also be reported to the author of the software in question. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.

Similar illegal posts in other subject areas will be treated in a similar way,

Advertising
Advertising is currently allowed on the AAS forums. However we would ask that you keep in infromative and discreet, informational posts about new, forthcoming or updated software is encouraged. Authors are other sellers are encouraged to limit advertising to their signature. If advertising becomes a problem rules will be drawn up as necessary.

Private/ Personal messages
Please note that although this forum does have a Private / Personal Messgaing function the head admin can read all such messages. Private Messages asking for warez or similar illegal software will not be tolerated. There is an automatic checking system in place.

Appealing Moderators Decisions or Questioning Moderator Activity
If you feel a decision is incorrect with regard to a moderator's removal, or editing of a post you can challenge that decision. If you wish to do this the following steps must be taken.

The user should contact Rafe either by PM or by e-mail (forumissue@allaboutsymbian.com) stating their case. The case will be considerd by Rafe or another senior admin team member. The admin will then review the case, the admin's decision is final.

Something to consider
All the people running this site do so on a part time voluntary basis. Please do not abuse them in any way. A system for complaint is established above. You should use this rather than posting your grievances in the forums. You may not agree with all of these rules but we have implemented them in an effort to keep the community friendly and open. We ask that even if you do not agree with the rules you respect them and stick to them while using the forums.
