Green.tv rolls out on Symbian

Published by at

Green.tv, as it sounds, a video-centric service dedicated to 'green'/ecological issues, has rolled out to Symbian (^3/Anna/Belle onwards), with a series of free mini-apps for the platform in the Nokia Store, each with a particular theme (e.g. 'Wildlife', 'Water' and even 'Comedy', this last being particularly entertaining and a good place to start!), all implemented in Qt and offering full-screen video content from the main Green.tv web servers.

Here's the first page of Green.tv results - definitely something for everybody, with typical video lengths of just a few minutes and half a dozen videos per 'application'. Nicely done all round and it all helps to raise awareness of important issues:

Here's a smattering of Green.tv-themed application screenshots, taken from my Nokia N8:

After tapping on 'Play', the videos play full-screen, don't worry...

Comedy and 'green' issues don't always go together, but they're well done here and stars like Jim Broadbent and Eddie Izard help things along well...
