Have your apps only a swipe away!

If you're looking for another way in which to launch your applications, then you should take a look at Access Apps. This little app takes its inspiration from the Meego Harmattan's Swipe UI where the application grid was accessed by swiping in from the left side of the screen. Access Apps does the same thing, but rather than covering the whole screen, its application grid is a semi-transparent blue overlay with curved corners.

Once deployed, you are able to scroll through an alphabetical list of all the apps on your device. Above the alphabetical listing though, are a few prioritised applications, such as calendar, contacts, telephone, etc. In addition to those, there are some specialised icons to access standard functions of the phone, including activating power saving mode – which doubles as a battery widget. As you can see from the screenshots, an extra button is added to the toolbar to launch the app grid too.

The real utility of this application is that it's accessible from within any application by simply swiping in from the left-hand side of the screen. You can find it in the Nokia Store for £1.50.
