Nokia Creative returns

Published by at

Long term readers of AAS will remember that a guy called James Burland started 'Nokia Creative' back in the days of the N93 (so 2006/7), featuring examples and musings on the specific theme of creating still, video and music content on a Nokia smartphone. The site had to be pulled down when its host disappeared earlier this year, but it's worth noting that it's back now, albeit with only a few classic posts from the old (incompatible) site to start it off. James also runs various Nokia camera phone Flickr groups, so Nokia Creative is worth bookmarking at least.

From the introductory post:

Welcome to the new home of Nokia Creative! I'm still rearranging the furniture a little, so please bear with me. As I can't import the old iWeb based blog, I'll be hosting that separately and linking back to it here at some point in the near future.

The direction of this blog will be largely dependant on where Steven Elop and his management team take Nokia, but for now I'm sure the Nokia 808 PureView will keep me busy. Things have changed over the years. Back in 2007, blogging about creating photo and video content with a smartphone was quite rare, now everyone does it! So, how can I keep Nokia Creative fresh and a little different from the many other mobile focused blogs that you and I read? That's what I've been thinking about. I think I've found the answer, but I'd love to know your ideas too.

Note: You're not going mad, I've added a few posts from the old site to add some kind of continuity.

Anyone can start a blog on just about anything, of course, but James has a proven track record of insightful posts and he also has a great eye for a good photo - he's only just got the 808 PureView but I'm expecting some great shots from him with it.

Here's one of James favourite 808 shots, taken from his Flickr group for the phone:

There's no RSS feed for the site yet, but I'm sure James is working on it...
